October , 2021 Closing The Green
Everything has been put to bed for another year. Thanks for all who came out to help. Great news that we now have our own top dresser to use for closing.

Tuesday, September 21, 2021 End of Summer In- Club Tournament
Now that's the way to end the summer! A fun day and a good way to learn how the tournaments are run. A new experience for some while everyone enjoyed the camaraderie, helped out by good friends and good weather.
Oh, what a day!

Sept 12, 2021 - First Sunday Bowling
Another first for our club as we opened for Sunday afternoon bowling. With the days getting shorter and no outdoor lighting available, our new Board of Directors has offered Sunday afternoon bowling. What a beautiful Fall day to start the new schedule. Only 8 bowlers came out but we hope to see more members join us for the few remaining Sunday bowling days left this year. |
September 01, 2021 Fall Meeting
This is a first! Our Fall Meeting was held early this year so that we could hold the meeting outdoors. Some social time to spend with friends and buy tickets for the awesome prizes generously donated by our sponsors and then pizza - everyone's favourite!
A fun time for everyone who attended. Our president spoke about the importance of technology through this difficult time. Technology became an important part of everyone's life as we learned to cope with the challenges brought on by Covid. For our lawn bowling club, it enabled us to stay in contact with our members and to hold virtual BOD meetings. A World War did not keep Campbellford from Lawn Bowling and we did not let Covid stop us either!
The meeting ended with our elections and prizes. Looking forward to a great 2022 season.
Thank you to our Board of Directors who have guided us through these last two years of challenges presented by Covid.
Congratulations to the new BOD!

Just enough sprinkles of rain to bring out the rainbow as we enjoyed a perfect night of lawn bowling. The long shadows remind us that the sun is setting earlier and our season will soon be coming to an end.

A reminder that there are still restrictions while we are playing. A big thank you to our grounds crew. We have never seen our green looking better! "The sun is in my eyes - not that I'm complaining!"

And Jitney play begins! Another wonderful night to be out enjoying a game of bowls. One of the best things about lawn bowling is the social aspect and the friendships you build. It is great to welcome back our members to play a real game of bowls with some of members of this year's Learn To Roll program. After all this time you may want to review how to play a game of bowls. You will definitely want to become familiar with the modifications that are in place to meet the Ontario Government regulations to make this safe for everyone.
Be sure to thank the game monitors and cleaning monitors who donate their time to make this a safe game for all members.

Phase three of the reopening is becoming a reality as we prepare for Jitney play tomorrow night. Today was a great day to be enjoying a game of 4-3-2-1. All life's worries seem to be forgotten with the fun and friendship that lawn bowling brings. How easy it is to forget that there are still protocols that need to be followed! Here's a look at how we got it right and still had fun.

Happy Canada Day!! You just can't always count on the weather! We no sooner raised our Canadian flag over the green when the rain started to come down. Some members braved the weather and came out to get the special club stickers for 2020 and 2021. We were hopeful that we would get in a game of bowls but it wasn't to be. |
June 16. 2021 Learn To Roll
If Covid has taught us anything this year it is that we need to learn how to roll with the situation. This year we introduced our Learn To Roll program which focuses on the ABC's of a pre-delivery routine. The routine cannot be stressed enough. Whether it is a free throw in basketball or the serve of a tennis ball or a roll of the bowl, the pre- task routine will help you mentally prepare for the shot and leave your mind free to concentrate on other aspects. If you make the ABC's part of your routine, you will be one of the few players who have not thrown the wrong bias. What are the ABC's? A - Align your body to the the aiming line B- check the Bias C - Control your weight |
